Scuttlebutts Bar

Scuttlebutts - The term scuttlebutt came from the nautical term for the water fountain (cask) on board ships. At times, it became the focus of the congregation and a casual discussion area. Since sailors exchanged gossip when they gathered at the scuttlebutt for a drink of water, the word scuttlebutt became slang for gossip or rumors.
